Thread regarding Humana Inc. layoffs

The Low down to lay offs at Humana at Home

The positions that were laid off were Personal Health Coordinators and Community Health Educators. Many low performing leaders were laid off. The leaders were Clinical operations managers and coaches.

Guess they are trimming the fat.

I haven't heard of any registered nurses losing their jobs.

Are you sure the director of quality only "retired?" That would actually be interesting to know. Wonder if it was a forced retirement or if it had anything to do with performance metrics of the program.

Several nurses were fired last summer due to license issues. I was one of them but it was a blessing in disguise for me. I may not be able to work at home any more but I am receiving better pay and respect and I am treated like a valued adult. They made us feel like criminals for an honest mistake. I for one am very glad I am no longer there.

You are either one or maybe all four of these persons: you do not work at humana; you are just plain ignorant to the facts (well, this one is evident); you were not in today's meeting; you have no friends at humana. Up to directors are in this jumble of persons who will lose their job come April. We know this because even if he is scum I cannot see the reason Franke would just plain lie about something that will be easily verified on the organizational chart for HAH. Hey if it makes you feel better to believe in a lie then go right ahead. I hear ignorance is bliss

We are top heavy with management. Management seem's to just create more things for us to do so they stay relevant whether the system can handle it or not only to bog down the HCMRN's with more to do in systems that are always going down. Frank should have been the first to go, he's destroyed HAH!

I recently resigned as an HCM-RN after almost 3 years. This position has changed drastically in 3 years and not for the good. Our Metrics change weekly and are impossible to make in 8 hours while still attending meetings, training etc. the use working at home as leverage to keep you working 10 hour days. Member needs are no longer important its all about quanity not quality. I feel sorry for those of you who continue working for HAH because you know this is just the first "wave" of changes.

Controlling the wages?? Culling the high pay folks from the ranks will help to explain the why. I can imagine that for a lead, there will be other available roles.

It is not true that it was low performing leaders. I was impacted and I'm ranked high in success, never had a conflict with anyone at Humana, and have been extremely dedicated to my position as a leader. I've received countless emails from my associates expressing how much of a great leader they thought I was. It's apparent that the leaders were not impacted because they were low performers, so please do not speak to something you do not know to be fact.

Fcms and hcc were let go too. Some nurses, some social workers. I know some were high performers.

I'm looking for a different position in Humana. My boss has been sympathetic to me. Sorry that hasn't been the case for many!
