Heard from a reliable source that there will be a large layoff on Dec 2nd. Can anyone back this up?

60 employees from the ROV division have been layed off. Email went out early this am Dec. 2. most of them had competencies past due. praying for those family especially during the holidays.

Seems that every company is doing the same so I would have to disagree with some of the comment. As for buying other small companies it helps in to ways. 1. It is debt that keep other companies from buy OII and 2. They can use it as a tax right off.

If theses rumors / comments are indeed true, Oceaneering will suffer a great loss and will be in a worse predicament than before. Since the "old" DTS has eliminated the trash, (assuming you know the individuals whom I speak of, since you know so much about Oceaneering) there is only intelligent, knowledgeable, veracious, employees that remain. So again, if these rumors stand true for tom. it will not be long before YOU are on that "list" that you so prudently speak of, considering that decision will ultimately lead to the demise of Oceaneering.
STaR will be cut in half by end of day tomorrow management and technicians.
I think its going to be a raise for everyone tomorrow.

Be aware all previously named DTS TECHS, which is now STAR, or whatever name it has been changed to 9 different times in the last 6 months. You guys will be hit hard tommorrrow for the take over is in full swing!!!!
