Thread regarding Enbridge Inc. layoffs

Enbridge has a RWP. I have heard that the way some people were let go was far from respectful.

"Core Values" is just another corporate work...like "Think outside the box". How can you ask your Unioized and contract staff to have those "core values" when management does not. We had a safety emergency in my department once. No one was injured but there had been an incident. No one could find my supervisor...when I called his cell phone to let him know there was a serious problem, I discovered he was at home...gone home for a swim. He asked me not to tell anyone. I was upset about it, but I buried it for him. In other incidents, the golf course called him to go play golf. REALLY????

Daily, the supervisors and managers were in the cafetetia between 10 and 11 for coffee....1 hour????

Good "core values and work ethics" start at the top. Not at Enbridge! Just another b---s--- phrase.

It's disgusting! I worked there for 7 years. I loved working there until management changed. I was laid off as well. They used the Building our Energy as the reason however, it was more of a personal attack. I was told the position I was in was no longer needed and by the end of the day they had someone fill it!!!!! My manager didn't like me taking time off for my sick baby that had to be hopsitilazed on several occasions due to poor respiratory problems. He said 1 day off a year was too much? In the meantime other employees are getting away with stuff that is unacceptable. Clearly being a working mother is not allowed at Enbridge! Anyhow I was escorted out by a third party hiree from a Career Transition company. I wasn't allowed to go back to my desk to get anything. They sure know how to make you feel like a worthless piece of S-@&!!

I have ZERO respect for this company and it's only going to get worse!

Any company can state a set of values, but for them to be true values the executive has to live them and enforce them, which does not happen at Enbridge.

Enbridge is a great company, there core values of safety integrity and respect say it all. Any company that prioritize those 3 values is tops in my books. E = Bright Future as long as the RDO is steering our destiny then we are in good hands.

Yes I agree...a HUGE slap in the face....so disrespectful for us as long time employees...happy too to be gone as it looks like it will only get worse as time goes...at least we know our fate but those who remain have to still live the uncertainty of what will happen going forward...good luck to the executives in trying to ever improve morale in that place...for us gone we need to look forward to what is to come as it will for sure be for the BETTER!!!!

Yeah, the words "Integrity and Respect" mean nothing to them. I was one of the recently laid off in October. Bad enough losing a job, but when you are escorted to the elevator by HR, HR is on the elevator with you all the way to the bottom floor, and couldn't even go back to my area to get my purse myself, that's a slap in the face. I understand how there's that chance that someone could flip out I guess, but when you have managers and executives who have no respect for anyone but themselves, cheating the company, cheating on spouses, etc., those words don't mean squat. Need a job, but glad as hell that I'm out of there.

Agreed. And this is why there are so many people in the public that do not trust Enbridge. The disrespect oozes out of the organization's pores. You don't need to work there to feel it.

Its interesting that the companies values are "Safety, Integrity and Respect" when the most senior leader and others in the executive team are very disrespectful and don't live the values. The culture at Enbridge has seriously deteriorated over the last few years as a result of the changes at the executive level. It's unfortunate as it used to be a great place to work, but not anymore.
