Thread regarding Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) layoffs

Today, November 8th, 2016 is a day of big celebration for all the HPE employees around the world!

Not because Clinton won over Trump, but because that means that Whitman will be resigning by the end of Q1, 2017 in order to join her cabinet. Goodbye, wicked witch! I'm going to miss your... Your... Your... Hair?

Let Trump get rid of greedy H1b workers. Too many American workers were laid off by HPE. I was laid off last year from 3par storage and my job was replaced by a H1b.

I am still looking for Job now. Very tough life for me. 😳

Rumor has it she made a drunken pass at him during a Republican fundraiser 3 years ago, and he used the typical Trump phrasing to turn her down (and describe her in very unflattering terms). It was enough for her to withdraw all support for the Republican party, just to spite him.

"I never met Meg Whitman, but the job she is doing at Hewlett-Packard is not a very good one," he said in a statement via his spokeswoman, Hope Hicks. "Based on the disastrous campaign she ran in California, and the tens of millions of dollars she wasted, I have learned a lot from her. I do not want her support."

Almost makes me like the guy...

Oh Darn.... Meg won't get her Ambassador job that Trump won! WHAT A TURN COAT... she runs as a republican in California to be Governor and lost. She announced on an ALL HANDS call last month she was supporting Hillary. She even got the first hug after the 3rd Presidental debate. Now HPE and HPI are stuck with her and her radical lay-off policy! Lay off the tenured employees and hire new college grads who show up to work after 10:00, take a 2 hour lunch and leave at 4:00. Good job Meg.... good job! No wonder the stock is in the tank! Just keep selling it off piece by piece and MAYBE a great company who appreciates its employees will buy what is left of what was once a great company.... COMPAQ that is!

I recall Meg talking smack against President Elect Trump. Now, let's get rid of Obamacare, see what happens to HPE. Lol.

Meg will go for governor in California next now that Hillary has lost, showcasing her "success" with HP/HPE, the great and never ending turnaround.

Interesting: in 2010 she had the slogan "Jobs are on the way" ;-). Haha. Don't know how she fired since then.

At least about "Meg's plan for jobs": this is now clear what it meant. And she wants (her party) to be famous for keeping the jobs in California.

Just do an image search on Google...

Putting Trump into power in the hope that he'll stop job migration overseas is like putting a farmer in charge of a plan to stop sheep being sent slaughter.

Right wing businessmen are the problem. Not the solution.

Well then you better sell all of your stock and stuff your mattress with gold coins.

As a result of Trump's win, I predict that layoffs at HPE will accelerate. We're headed for a another Great Recession, when no one will be buying anything, including expensive computers.

Not intended to be political but consider this...

"I doubt if the CEO of every company that took part in this movement is part of a left wing conspiracy to keep Trump out of the White House. But I think those who say it’s a nonpartisan effort while vocally supporting a specific candidate are abusing their power and unduly pressuring their employees. And that’s just plain wrong."

I am curious if any of you tech folks felt any sort of pressure to vote one way or another. Consider the motivations of your employer when they hint... to pressure you to vote in the direction they want.

Though I loath politics in the work place, it is becoming abuntantly clear that if you are voting for candidates that want immigration, support free trade that is lobsided, support higher quotas of h1B visa, etc... then maybe that is a candidate you should reconsider because your job may actually depend on how you vote.

Just a thought.

The damage is already done, so at this point it really doesn't matter.

My thought's the same. If Hillary wins, Meg is out.
