Thread regarding Follett layoffs

Acceptance

Acceptance is the only demon you must confront in this company right now. You are accepting this kind of treatment, you are accepting this kind of pay, you are accepting the culture. If you weren't these issues would not be here. Trust me I left 2 months ago from a manager position , I know times are tough. But this is unaccceptable, unethical behavior from any company. The longer you accept the culture and treatment from this company the longer it will continue. This is the hard truth , but the undisputed truth.

Happy to hear the agreement. It's all on the employee as of right now. As said update and apply , take the first thing that relatively decent and go. Yes, it will be better. Yes it is sad that this is nearly the only option but it is. Unless everyone starts diligently documenting in detail every last thing , reporting to hr (even thought they won't help it's still filed which can aid you later) and if in need make sure to use key words such as , I feel I'm being harassed , or I'm being bullied, or profiled, discrimination. Watch your superiors heads turn the other way when they see you have some insight as to what alerts them to back off! These are legal key words that will defend you... use them! Document! Don't accept and update your resume!

Perfect. you're right.

For those who are close to retirement; this isn't the way you want to end your work life. finding another job will be very hard. Do it anyway. You'll be richly rewarded and rejuvenated. It's worth the effort.

Regardless of age, update the resume. Update your skill assessment. Understand what you're selling your next employer. Sell it! You're the best product you've got. Go get something for it!
