Thread regarding Halliburton Co. layoffs

To all you younger field personal. Think long and hard about working for a

Company that gives you a lump sum as a raise. Trust me, management has it all covered. To make sure your hourly rate stays the same.

Halliburton is #3 at best. Riding on pasted reputation and the hard work of experienced hands. Many who have been it's walked out the gate. Be cause of service time.

The money was correct before 2008. After that, wages didn't increase and I still get paid the same amount as 8 years ago. The only problem is that I can buy less because of inflation.

I spent many Christmas and other holidays offshore. Never a dollar extra. Worked on the Gulf of Mexico 14/14 cementer pay.

Trust me your time, expenses and job will be micro managed.

Lucky to get a ( focal point ) raise once a year. Lump sum. With taxes at a higher rate. Never a hourly increase.

You will be working for a company who CEO wasted 3.5 billion dollars. And is still the CEO.

Money has never been correct even when the industry was doing very good along with the company but how long is it before you get pay rise I thought it was yearly like other companys or inflation rise and not having to wait 4 years for pay rise and still waiting its bad enough being offshore Christmas along with new year and not getting any extra payments that's is totally incorrect this must be the only company that don't do it yes the greed company see wheres the moneys goes to the managers etc as per bonus

These comments can be applied to many companies in the oilfield. It is a boom and bust industry. When times are good there are jobs and money. When times are bad, the jobs and money goes away. If you pursue a job in this industry make sure you are saving enough to weather the bad times.
