Is it business as usual or are the aftershocks being felt at your store?

@ths, that is so funny. I guess they do not know what SHLD means. Everyone knows SHLD is the stock ticker symbol for Sears holdings.
I am in SC, how many east coast warehouses are left?
Business as usual at my sears... 90% of the associated don't know what the 3rd quarter is
NY
@bco, are you in the southeast? What state?
Warehouse trucks cancelled for next 2 weeks. DC isn't getting merchandise.
They are really pushing Credit card applications. We walk around the store and ask people. I guess this is the new way to "transform" this company and make them profitable. Laughable indeed. We are also suppose to "embrace technology" as a corporate culture. But as a 20 something associate told me after our morning meeting today, "Why do they insist we embrace technology from the 1990's?" Ha, ha , ha. THis is what the company has become and a 20 year old can analyze the problem better than some Business "genius" at corporate.
Our store was directed by corporate or DM not sure which, but they are only allowed to have 1 cashier scheduled. This is insane. One cashier and the person is to call floor associates for back up. Every 5 minutes they call for back-up of which 2 people can come and help because that is all they have scheduled. The customers wait a long time in line because of all the dumb questions like asking them to sign up for credit cards, update profiles, checking for points, calling syw to deal with point errors etc. Then there is no one available to run for price checks and the line extends down the siale to the shoe department. No wonder people just want to shop online.
