Our best efforts have not been able to verify the rumours. Oracle has denied it. A user tells us Solaris will be moved to maintenance mode and resources moved to Linux. If you are not working on something to do with the Cloud at Oracle, your job is in jeopardy. Get on a cloud team or get out why you still can.
You may want to take a broader view and talk to your contacts at oracle about layoffs in general, as per other threads they appear to have been going on in small batches for the last 6 months or so, under the radar, that may be a story in andnof itself.
Of course head counts have been. Will they send people home tomorrow?
lower level team meetings are happening tomorrow. headcounts are already decided, but they are pretending that they are still figuring things out.
You'll probably find our after teams have been let go. It's a low information environment for a reason. Employees stay clueless til it's bit em in the a--.
