No Raises And 1/2 Bonus Level in Texas

My group is in ES, moving to spinCo and my manager just informed us that we will not be getting any raises this year, and we will also be getting 1/2 of our normal holiday end of year bonus. For comparison, last year each employee (at a minimum) got a 3% raise and a 5% bonus. It appears we in ES are no longer valued over shareholders, not that it is a surprise.

The reduced bonus pool and tiny raises is not a troll story. Managers are telling their teams.

Yearly raise and bonus? Concerning the IP, if it sounds like, smells like, and looks like a troll it probably is a troll.

Permanent or contract... As long as the jobs stay here in the US, any option is way better than having them sent overseas. "Permanent" is a myth anyways... The reality nowadays is that you are either full time or par time, and that's it. We are all "temporary" employees...

@KCRDC6s-1pra - Stop living in fantasy land. HPE isn't sending any more jobs oversaeas now... they have entered the simple slashing and replacing stages... what jobs they can't just cut outright, they will instead replace career workers with contractors (Modis and Cyber). That's evidenced by the fact that they are firing people overseas, as well.

Trump isn't going to save you. They crow about Carrier when all they did was give Carrier enough corporate welfare to stay in Indiana (meanwhile, those workers will have to take pay cuts and cuts in benefits) - they certainly aren't going to do that for every company out there. He's a 1%er, laughing all the way to the bank as he devises new ways to bilk the government out of our tax dollars and raises our (the working class) taxes. Meanwhile, he's going to deregulate business and give them free reign to continue screwing all of us over.

By all means look, but realize we have a new administration coming in January that is not content to wave "bye" to all the American jobs like the last one was.

The GOP had the majority and did nothing but thy to block the current president. Trump is says he'll reduce Corp tax from 35% to 15%, well if he does that whose is going to make up the difference?

He gave 7 million in state tax cuts , again whos going to make that up.

Welcome to CSC raises we haven't seen one in years and bonus that is just too funny. The CSC bonus is you get to use your own phone/cell now at your own cost to do CSC work and if your lucky you still have a job.

I fully agree with @1dtb. I am managing my job search as if I would get notice mid January, and my last day would be Jan 31st. Thinking that this "could" happen to me "sometime" during FY17 doesn't trigger the urgency that I'm convinced it deserves.

In any job search the reason you are leaving should be the opportunity you are going to is good, not because your current situation is bad. Fear based job searching can lead you into an even worse situation than you're in now. By all means look, but realize we have a new administration coming in January that is not content to wave "bye" to all the American jobs like the last one was.

We got the same news in Pontiac -- raises and bonus pool is half what it was last year. We were also told to make sure we are staying current with the latest technology, and plan for your future -- including investigating outside opportunities.

My advice: Assume you will be WFR'd over the next year, and take the steps necessary to secure your future. If you think you won't be WFR'd, it's in your best interest to get out of your comfort bubble and face the reality of the situation.

All the little darlings in India, Costa Rica, and Malaysia are the stars now. It must be a royal pain mentally that you have to work with them. GLTA

As ZWU said, at least you are fully prepared for NewCo. If you aren't the CEO or FD you don't get sh1t here at CSC and they spend many productive hours trying to figure out how to take whatever left you might have.

I agree with you it is really demoralizing when you don't get a raise however small. If it makes you feel any better, I am not in ES, and I did not get a raise in 8 years. I put up with it because of my circumstances.

Wow - I want to move to your group. I work in ES CABO with no raises at all for anyone on my team for 3 years and no bonuses anywhere close to 5%. Consider yourself fortunate compared to many of us in ES. Counting inflation and increased benefit costs, we are making much less than when we were first hired some years ago.

Wow - I'm surprised you got any raises in the past couple of years. My department in ES didn't. Got one pitiful bonus last year, but no raises for the past 3 years.

Your all better off than I, I was let go a month ago and wont be getting anything, be thankful for the job you do have and look for a better one that gives you what you want. BTW I worked in corporate and there was no set raises or a bonus guarantee, I spent years trying to get back to what I made when Hurd was CEO.

Let me pull out the worlds smallest violin and play you a song.... I am in ES Finance - no one in my entire org has received a raise AT ALL in THREE years. The exceeds expectation people were blessed with 1% year end bonuses back in 2014. I am shocked to hear that you are receiving such huge raises and bonuses at all. That seems rather unfair that employees of the same unit could be treated so differently. You just try to be grateful - the rest of us have been treated like p--p for several years.
