very bizarre - seen an article stating that 3rd quarter results are out tomorrow- but dint see anything on the company website announcing it. If it's true then the results must be awful- seems odd to keep it so quiet. I was expecting results in a couple of weeks or so- anyone heard anything?

Let's not call them 3rd Quarter Earnings again BTW.
I read all I can find on SHLD most everyday. The financial are supposed to come tomorrow however there has been some speculation that the numbers might be so bad that SHLD might not disclose until after trading closes on Friday in an attempt for some damage control. As was mentioned, SHLD does have until Monday to disclose results and people tend to forget a lot of things over the weekend.
I don't see what difference it would really make to market cap though as trading would halt anyway.
There's a thread below on this. By law sears has no later than Monday to report results. Speaks to what disarray their management team must be in with the departure of their lead SVP. Oh and disarray caused by the hole they have dug for themselves.
