Thread regarding Follett layoffs

Home office executives get huge raise do you read the whole law and you get pay cut

Highly compensated executives minimum went from $100,000 to $134,0000 per year salary and the people in the stores who generate the income get pay cuts........ yep seems fair and in true follett fashion.

The law is about Highly Compensated Employees. Here's the breakdown from CFO online:

"In addition, there is a second set of “highly compensated employee” exemptions for white-collar workers who earn at least $100,000 annually. These are employees who perform duties that may not strictly meet all of the requirements for an executive, administrative, or professional exemption, but are so close that the employer worries that it may lose a dispute, if one came to pass. The new regulations increase that annual requirement for such workers to more than $134,000."

That's what the OP was getting at, but there's no way to know if anyone at Follett got that raise. This law is meant to protect non-executive HCE. So, hence, Follett executives would not get this raise. Although lets be honest, they probably already make over $134,000, making this whole thread moot.

What are you taking about?? Where in the law does it say people making 100k need to now make 134k??! Look, Follett does enough terrible stuff on their own without you making things up to make them look worse.

It is part of the overtime law also, so that is the proof, there is no option for them to go hourly.
