Thread regarding Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) layoffs

Mike, they are fooling you!

Hi, I hope CSC's Mike Lawrie will read this.

ES top management are altering the FY results by firing everybody wherever they can to improve the results, get their PFR bonuses and get CSC paying more for ES. Suddenly our OP is hi after years and year at 2%. Of course, we have no costs any more.

As a result CSC will get a destroyed organization, not able to deliver or sell anything, upset customers with broken projects because people, even if fully billable, has been fired. These executives didn't asked themselves what are these people doing, could they do something else, what happens without them. I doubt CSC has been asked hey, will you need this team? No, they just toke an excel and fire everybody matching some secret criteria. My whole group has been dismissed with people who had to leave with 2 weeks notice, in the middle of complex projects, and no chance to hand over to others to complete them. No one cares despite all the escalations. This show that they care only of Q4 results and they know perfectly that Q1'17 will be a disaster and they ruined all the long term chance of ES. So CSC is merging with a broken company and will only find upset customers and scarred employees (don't tell me that, even if you have not been fired yet, you are sure that you will still be around in April?). These executives of course will only add another "met target" in their CV and take a huge package (Nefkens within 12 months probably) and move to the next company to be destroyed. So Mike, if I were you, I would speak with someone at level L6 or below, not only with Mike Nefkens, Eric Harmon and the likes.

Piling on, but confirming, I am CSC management (at least for now, I am over 50) and Mike Lawrie is doing EXACTLY the same kinds of things stated in the OP right now. RIFing blindly and without regard to the company's obligations to clients. RIFing people on medical leave. RIFing EVERYONE with experience. Hollowing out delivery teams for any 'legacy' ITO services. Ignoring client relationships. Blaming account teams for SLA misses caused by forced-march RIFs monthly.

It's a shltshow, run away from both of these companies fast.

The whole marriage of the companies is to allow CSC to continue on with their existing and move into the Govt. contracts that they did not already have. They could care less about individuals that do the actual work.

It happens in Brazil, my sh--ty country as well. HPE is going to layoff 35% of its workforce by the end of November. No one is safe, not even the cheap ones.

If you don't already know, HPE is being bought for the accounts and the things that make money. Not the people.

It s---s. It s---s because good people don't factor into the equation. If you don't know this or haven't realizes this by now you're already doomed.

Thanks for reassuring me guys, I was concerned for Mike, poor guy :-)

Now I can start looking for a new job since I have been fired myself, but at least I know they will not starve

Lawrie knows what he is getting into. He has the same business model..Layoff and put the load on fewer people..Makes the bottom line look better and he gets his nice bonuses...Read CSC boards..you will see same chatter as on here..

I would not be surprised if Mike Lawrie asked for just what you had described - an organization that needs a lot of positions that need to be filled so that he can put his own people in there. The cunning of our leadership and Meg knows no bounds, remember their world revolves around profits and margins and not how well the employees are doing, employees are just a resource to be hired, fired or moved around at will.
