i want to understand clearly mtech with 2.5 yrs exp should join which grade in cisco ?
also how many years of time it takes to get promoted from
4 to 6
6 to 8
8 to 10
10 to 11

I know two folks hired as grade 8:
phd out of college
master + 2 years of work experience.
i went in at g8 with mtech + 4 yrs. but that was 16 yrs ago. fresh mtech gets g6 , i know some in my team.
I got reply with G6 and G8. Promotion then fine.
Kindly may I know wt should be grade ?
It truly depends on how long your tongue is. If you are an asslicking, self promoting lick-spittle you will get there quickly.
Sounds like grade 6 to me. At most. I've seen people with PhD hired at GL6. They were promoted to GL8 pretty quickly though.

Promotion speed depends on too many factors. Some never get promoted, a very few are speed-demons.

There are no published criteria on promotion. But beware, you get too high too fast, and you'll be back on this website updating everyone about how you were unjustly cut for being too expensive...
