Thread regarding AT&T Inc. layoffs

End of year management reductions? Voluntary separation?

I hear rumors - anyone know about a voluntary separation plan for management employees at the end of the year?

How do you KNOW there will not be a voluntary offer? Has that been communicated?

There will not be voluntary selection and I would caution anyone to volunteer, you will become a target

2 many managers, 2 little knowledge, making 2 much money, 2 fix this problem we need to test them, and hopefully won't be multiple choice questions, just like the AT&T university silly degrees

The ineterest in leaving potentially saves someone that's on the list. Each org has a headcount reduction target and a list of names to meet the target. If a volunteer steps forward then a name comes off the list.

The interest in leaving survey is really just a false sense of hope. They do that for legal reasons and the surplus employees are already selected. We just went through this for Indirect and now they are preparing another for National Retail.

Not voluntary. Got an Interest in Leaving Survey last Friday. Beginning of involuntary surplus.
