Got fired recently. What would happen if I will deny my exit package? I am based in the Middle East .. Exit package: 5 months paid and 2 months notice!! Appreciate your comments.

It depends where in Middle East . This sounds like a UAE pay off. 2 months notice because your visa may be tied to having a job, this way they are maximizing your chances of finding anotherrole. 5 Months salary is above TECOM /Freezone requirement. Cisco UAE is not bound by employment Law's of Dubai/Abu Dhabi/UAE but by the rules of TECOM. Unless there was a irregularity in the process grab the money .

My doubt - 5 months is Basic or full month ?
I am afraid when we get lay off in future Cisco may stop giving that also saying xyz anything blaw blaw story.
Yes, was laid off not fired. Many thanks for the comments.. It is much appreciated.... I saw in some cases they have offered some employees 6 paid months plus 3 months motive not like in my case: 5+2.. Not sure if It depends on how many years spent at Sysko or the grade?!!
The same or else come to the court room. They are really smart to defend and none has escaped yet. If you hire an atorny and fight the case, the chance are still rare and you have to pay for the lawyer plus chance of loosing package. good to get the package and leave. I did the same. Was out with in 3 weeks and lost the package as well. I live in the place where the employement laws are very very strick but still i was not able to defend my self even with the support of my labor union, lawyer and my collegues at Cisco. I worked in Cisco for 12 years and has given my each second to this company. I was used in every disaster specially when the annual lay off occurs, all the left off project would shift to me. I took all burden on shoulders just to protect my self every year from lay offs but 2 years back i was shown the door.

It depends on the labour laws from you country, but usually Cisco is generous with their offer so I guess that the labour laws in your country aren't too much protective. An ex. if legally you have right of 2 months notice plus some compensations Cisco will at least double the package just to be sure they won't have legal issues after...
How much would be the max I will get paid if I deny their offer?!
