Thread regarding Follett layoffs

Let's talk about "layoffs"...

ok. so there's the rumor that layoffs are coming at the end of the month (9/28 to 9/30). no one knows for sure how many people will be affected. but it would have to be less than 250. otherwise follett is required to announce it on https://www.illinois.gov/dceo/workforcedevelopment/warn/Pages/default.aspx before it happens. and there is no announcement. from other points on this board i have read it is more likely to affect stores and warehouse than office employees. what else do we know???

Remember expense revenue declines need t match sales declines. If sales are good, no layoffs.

Well so far the information on the site has been fairly accurate. Outside of whoever posted Follett owns this site, which is pretty funny.

turns out that the "layoff" thing is just a rumor started by a disgruntled former employee that was laid off in the last round. joke's on us.

Easy to tell when Follett management steps in trying to stop the conversation. Shall we start a conversation about all the unprofessional behavior by management?

Let's stop this discussion right here. There is nothing to be gained about spreading rumors further. If I were you I would seriously question my desire to continue working for a company I enjoy gossiping about. It is unprofessional.

Even if the layoffs are distributed across many states? The state of Illinois keeps layoff information pertaining to Ohio, PA, NY and CA?
