New management at Sears stores

Has anyone heard a date as when the new zone supervisor jobs will begin at the Sears store levels?

All we know in my store us that all current softline leads,we have two,and the one ASM had to apply for one of the new positions, but no one knows when these new jobs go into effect. What about at other Sears stores, what are you hearing?

We heard in my Sears store,a BStore, the new jobs will start on the 11th,the new hardliners zone manager is from another store that closed earlier this year, our new store manager is also from the same store, we had two softline leads before, one got the zone supervisor job and the other the soft line lead,so I don't know which was a promotion or a demotion. Our ASM is the operation supervisor, although it sounds like this job is the same as the old backroom lead position not the o!d operations ASM job. To go from salaried to hourly at Sears is usually a big step down in Pay and in benefits so I wonder how many ASMs will be come supervisors throughout the company and how many will be leaving, but it must be a way to save money on payroll or I can't imagine Sears would be doing it. What does anyone else think?

How much do zone supervisors earn an hour? Does it depend on whether you are in an A or B-sized store, or is it the same across the board?

I was told that the pay was "competitive". Very vague if you ask me. I know the $11.20 I get paid as a lead is not competitive, at least not in the Pacific Northwest. I have a real hard time believing this as Sears is just about done. I'm a softlines lead working alongside another lead. One of us stays, the other goes. Even with two leads nothing gets accomplished. Weeks go by when the entire softlines department receives a paltry 60-80 hours, and two fulltime leads have to take 35-40 of those hours apiece. Any time we do get hours, the MCAs we oversee are stolen away to ring up customers when there's a metric ton of projects to do (though it's not their fault).

And upper management? Corporate, especially? They're really bold to expect the world with no manpower. 24 hours for all freight to be stocked. Resets up the yingyang. This project, that project. They b---- and moan when things don't go right and resort to threats and intimidation.

So regardless I just chose not to apply for the zone supervisor position. In fact, come the 9th, the last day before the switchover, I am leaving Sears. I feel sorry for my co-worker, the other lead, who decided to take the position.

September 11th is the first day for the new roles in our area. Everyone was saved in our store, so no loss of jobs.

I m at a kmart store and it is the same at my store. If you are friends with the right person you get hours and have to do nothing but talk to your friends and train.

It's "hush" at our store. A few of us knew about the new positions because its posted online.

The SM and ASM haven't said a word, and our 1 softlines didn't know anything about it until I told him!

Our ASM is almost at retirement age and sets in her office all day. If the new position goes to her,,,nothing will get done :(

Friendship is the way to the top in our store. Doesn't matter how much you do OR don't do.
