So Cisco people are aware, there are some big layoffs coming to global service provider. This will impact video and other BUs who provide solutions specific to SP. Sales not done either. Cisco will slowly unwind SP.

Sp is complete bullshit (especially a lox performer Bu I won't disclose here)
But be realistic, low performance is just a result of some burocratic managers and yes men, so cut them all!
Well, us SP BU types are under no illusions - although we didn't get touched this time. However, the Q4 SP numbers (esp. in one area of the business which I won't disclose) were not good, so we don't expect to remain above the blood bath for long. Just last week, the execs sent out messages from ELT that from now on, any reduction in forecast will trigger a reduction in Opex.
How the staff translate that message: if your product isn't tracking too well this quarter, and you look like missing your forecast, they'll be asking for heads to roll (not the leaders, the workers). So, the yearly layoff is a thing of the past, a trim could come at any time. Great, innut?
Once a year, there is a BIG layoff. But every quarter (precisely- at the end of quarter), there are smaller layoffs.
Traditonally, layoffs are once a year. This year's layoff are already done (at least in the US). So, it would surprise me if GPS or any other software BU will see further layoffs in the next couple of months. I bet folks are save for 11 months.
GSP numbers are in the toilet.
Sales is pushed hard to provide a fantasy forecast - just to match the numbers ELT is expecting. Huge gaps - no substance - just a mess.
Yep....I heard the same thing...SP business is struggling and some more heads are going to roll in a few months.
Some software BUs will get hit this fall.
