Thread regarding Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) layoffs

Does anyone under 35 in the US actually work Fridays?

Seems like no one younger than 35 comes in on Fridays here in Houston. Do they know something we don't?

My experience was that the ones over 35 were the ones that arrived at 7 am, would reply to a single random email to tell everyone they were working at 7 am - and then would proceed to grab breakfast, a few cups of coffee, read their newspapers, gossip, and otherwise not work until at least 10 or 11 am. Oh, and they'd leave at 3 or 4 saying how hard they had been working since 7 am.

At the Pontiac MI location you always know it's a Friday because the parking lot is half empty.

Given that they are all old folks, perhaps they have just planned ahead and have scheduled FTO for the Friday before a national holiday. Here in (another big city in Texas) I'm surrounded by folks over 40.

Perhaps they know of the imminent sell-off leaked today? PE firm Thoma Bravo in talks with HPE to buy it. Bad news for HPE Software division folks.

Anyone still working for HP obviously hasn't gotten the "memo" yet...
