@2ynw: why the hate about what I said? I was just laid off. I KNOW that annual LR's are the new normal.

My group let go 2 employees yet is bringing in 4 contractors at the same time. They didn't have enough open cubicals to put the new guys into even after getting rid of us.

Given how many people in RTP got the notice the next morning after Chucky's earnings call, I was surprised to hear that there was a round 2 in the US and asked what notices where received. Most of the SJC replies have to do with getting out of certain bldgs so Cisco can get out of the lease. In RTP, it doesn't seem to be any bldgs being emptied for leasing purposes. Maybe the move notices are for the renovations that are happening, which is why I asked.

And if you don't like my responses, feel free to kiss my a$$.

What notices did RTP receive?

I know that Cisco is doing their 5-yr plan to renovate and modernize the RTP campus which requires teams to vacate a building or floor while it's renovated.

Most buildings' utilization fluctuates by day of week and by team. The move to "open" or collaborative spaces is causing many people to work remote, which is causing managers to invoke the 80% rule requiring your presence at work at least 80% of the time.

My team doesn't have cubical space for all the new contractors joining the team even after the LR event freed up some cubicles.

If you're mentioning your building has been affected too, can you tell us where you are please. Does anybody know if this will roll out and affect Bedfont maybe?

Not like the letter buildings are a shocker. There's a giant sign out front of most of em that says they are available for lease in 2017. Kinda a hint.

Tons of people work remotely at Cisco.....it makes sense to reduce buildings if mgmt wants to continue that. Most of the buildings I used to work in (not just SJ...other campuses also) were half full most weeks.

Us too we have to vacate a letter building in less than a month.

Our group of about 100 was given notice two weeks ago to move buildings in SJ. No delays, no exceptions, no appeal. You have two weeks to move, go. This company is increasingly Machiavellian.

All of you forgot to mention that the number buildings are packed like cans of sardines. DCs for cloud should be vacant soon the way business is going.

Most of our buildings are pretty empty these days. Seems to be the prudent thing to do.
