Thread regarding Enbridge Inc. layoffs

Time's up

It's been fun but my time is up. I'd like to thank Enbridge for all the opportunity, development and quite honestly great compensation which has afforded me the lifestyle my family and I have enjoyed over the last decade.

While there are those who would point to a structurally broken organization, I would say that what this really amounts to is a structurally broken country.

Divisive politics, conflict ridden provincial relations, a return of federally driven geopolitical conflict, and a public unwilling to embrace the facts of what girly made the nation great have reduced us to a nation who lack the will to move forward and build - an economic wasteland!

People seem to be calling out that integrity and respect are being violated. I don't get that at all. Each employee affected is being treated with respect during the process, and the compensation is generous by any standard. Integrity and respect are about how you treat people even in these situations. They are not violated if the company chooses not to preserve someone's personal ecosystem intact.

If it's lack of communication and secrecy, well... there's no easy way to completely uproot an organizational structure. Flattening one has to start at the top and be done in secret because the changes at each level are often negotiations that could go either way, affecting the current and following tier results.

I operated in a complete information vacuum along with everybody else. But I know that no matter what goes down I'll be treated right.

Enbridge is a different place to work than it was 5 years ago. The change in management brought many other changes which have not been positive. Employees are treated terribly and many are miserable. The lack of integrity and respect shown to employees throughout this process has been disgraceful. Anyone who isn't still employed at the end of all this, may be better of than those who are. How can employees respect a company when they are treated so distastefully?

While Al and Byron get millions in bonus the average man/women suffers. Nothing is new at Enbridge. Why are there those who seem shocked?
