The question nobody is asking is "What company is not cutting back?" The only safe industry in this economy is the health industry. Everyone usually go to the oil & gas industry because it pays well, but when things go south companies layoff left & right. How the market is going layoffs will happen, and with the acquisition doesn't make it any better. We can sit around and worry & pout, but the truth is the executives, board of directors, & CEO won't care how you feel. As long as those bonus checks are coming in. Now you can play it smart & start looking for a new job, and post companies who have opening positions & we can work as a team. Or we can keep talking about when and how the layoffs will work. Now I recently seen that Houston Methodist & Memorial Herman are hiring for many positions. I received an email from a recruiter Friday for a phone interview on Thursday. Just passing along something positive that maybe can help. Wish the best for everyone. I really do!!!!

They were hiring few months back. I believe they were doing well in comparison to enbridge natural gas business (Midcoast energy partners). MEP management is a big joke. They don't have any leadership skills.
Is Spectra hiring??
Saputo Dairy Products is also hiring :)
Great thinking. I thought I was the only one thinking like this. I'm up late applying to jobs. Hilcorp energy, Houston Methodist, & IBM are hiring. But like you said Houston Methodist & Memorial Herman has a lot of job openings.
I like your thinking!
