How does the actual act of communicating that you've been laid off happen?
Do they call you in a conference room? Who is there? What do they tell you? How long does it take?
I am extremely nervous, been with the company for 2 years and I am expecting to be laid off, most folks in my group are telling me that we will be hit hard, so I have no doubts that I might be laid off.
Nothing has happened in my department that I know of, at least not at my level. The anticipation of this is ridiculous, I wish they would get it over with already.
Perhaps there is not going to be one big massive layoff day like we've been anticipating.
One person in our group got BOEF'D last week. Seems to be happening in isolated incidents...
So has anyone actually gotten laid off yet? Or know of it as a fact? Curious if layoffs are actually going to happen or not.

Always take time and at least say you are going to have a lawyer look at the paperwork. The offer may just get better. Never sign anything under these stressful conditions.
@JUAr4P3-azp is correct - it's short but not sweet. They try to remove any emotions and keep it to the point. It does not hurt (source: personal experience - Summer 2015)
They call you into a conference room and usually make sure no other colleages are around (call them into their own meetings). Your leader and an HR rep are usually there. They keep it to the point and offer you support services from what I hear. They do it in a respectful way from what I hear. I hope you are not affected.
