Thread regarding Enbridge Inc. layoffs

D-DAY minus 1

Not looking forward to next week at all! Glad it will at least be over for me one way or the other at least until the "firing squad" coming when we close the Spectra transaction. Enbridge is a good company and I have enjoyed my time there but with that said upper management has been inept in its handling of this entire situation. Our work force is demoralized and rightfully scared because even if you make it through this week there's too many redundant positions to not be fearful of the coming months.

Integrety, safety and respect are just politically correct words to put on posters in the break rooms at this point. Safety is still valid but I'm sure those being publicly humiliated and walked out this week would not agree with the other two. Show us some respect senior most leaders and just be honest and open with us rather than have us have to rely on the rumor mill for information and hold our breath all week each time the phone rings. We are adults and understand the situation. I guess it's too late for that now though.

Everyone keep your head up this week no matter what happens. I wish everyone the best of luck!

Definitely includes EGD and some senior managers are already gone.

I thought BOEF (now called OEF) was across the entire company and not just LP? Guess we all will find out in due time.

If you work in Brampton you probably work for EGD, which is separate from the pipelines business and to my knowledge is not affected by this.

I'm just curious as I work at the Enbridge office in Brampton, who said there will be layoffs next week ?

If there is, our office has had no insight to this, with the release of WAMS and the back log of work across all regions...

The stress impacts productivity as well. The people in my department are hard-working and ethical. The constant threat from management that we'll lose our jobs, and the lack of honest, direct communication has proven how undervalued and replaceable we all are to ELT. It has become difficult to concentrate, and we have become immobilized at a time in which we should all be working together to get through SG 5's. I totally understand layoffs, but they way this company is going about it is extremely disappointing at best. I'm not sure how sustainable this type of leadership will be.

Well said. I disagree that safety is still valid. This is no longer a safe environment. All this stress and anxiety adds up impacting our health.

Yeah, this has been just brutal. As an employee this has been so poorly executed and the cause of lots of stress.

I'm expecting next week to be very tense at the office. :(
