Thread regarding ConocoPhillips layoffs

Remember when?

COP used to hire the best of the best. Now its the cousin brother sister momma friend of every person in town. Is it any wonder why our behavior is so ethically deplorable, we are inbred to the gills!

That what we got with Bartlesville! That is and has been the norm in Bartlesville. Cut it off and close Bartlesville now!

Yeah, you're replaceable like anyone else. The fact you and your husband work there says it all.

I work there and so does my husband., not in same department but it is the only decent place to work in town. We both bring value.

I remember. Same goes for the service providers. Standards have gone down significantly over the years.

I agree to a limited extent. It is supposed to be against policy to hire husband and wife in the same group who report to the same supervisor, but some groups don't follow that rule. Then the husband/wife are secure even if they don't really add value, or have a formal education, or any work experience other than waiting tables or working at a liquor store. Makes for a very dysfunctional environment.
