Frontier doesn't have VzW to smooth their earnings. So they treat wireline like a business and that business has to keep costs in line with revenue. Too many employees, not enough income.
Frontier took over VZ assets from FL, TX and CA and now laying off hundreds of peoples. About 12000 employees were moved to Frontier as part of this sale.
