That's how Enbridge treats contractors. 5 years as a contractor?? You should move on if you want employee benefits, because Enbridge isn't going to give it to you. They're just stringing you along.

That is not how it is in my case...I don't get paid overtime and IF we get paid any more, it's because we have no benefits/paid time off through the company so we have to carry that ourselves. Have you gone out and shopped for individual insurance lately. For me and the other contractors I know who work their butts off just trying to earn a FTE position, that was an unfair/uneducated statement. Somehow we deserve less for our dedication?

Why would you expect something when you're a contractor? You guys are paid at a higher rate, and get paid 1.5x when you work overtime.

You get NOTHING as a contractor who has been there nearly 5 years!

In September 2016, at the advisor level it was one month for every year, paid out vacation and a prorated STIP plus benefits continued for a month. You have options on how it gets paid out for tax purposes - lump sum, deferred payment, into RRSPs etc.

But as already mentioned don't sign a thing until you have a lawyer review or at least until you are in the right state of mind to review it yourself.

You'll have to deal with the MyHR hotline after words, who may treat you like a second class citizen. But its worth it to ensure you are reviewing everything thoroughly and not in a state of distress.

I highly doubt it's 1 month for every year. The last place I was laid off from because of the economy, I got 3 weeks for every year and that was considered generous. I heard that they recently changed it from Tom 3 to 2 weeks to save $$.

Best advice on this site :

"Whatever happens next week don't sign anything before having a lawyer read it over!"

Always take time and at least say you are going to have a lawyer look at the paperwork. The offer may just get better.

It is 2 weeks for every year service and prorated STIP. Going to miss working with the great friends I made at Enbridge

I thought 1 month for every year of service. If it's only 2 weeks, that s---s!

Everyone is hearing 1 month per year. Not sure if that's different for manager or individual contributor.

I wish they had asked for individuals to come forward and take severance packages... I would take one in a second...
