It is absurd Wireline employees are treated like royalty while us on the wireless side are being laid off and thrown out to pasture. I've transferred calls to the Wireline side and most of the agents I have spoken to sounded like they just got out of bed and some have refused to take a call and instead just transferred me to another department when I said I was from Wireless.
Why didn't Verizon fight harder during negotiations to break the stupid union? I hate unions - they are a cult.

Why Do Wireline Employees Get Paid In Excess of $30.00 An Hour when you think they are worth $10-$12 an hour? That is because the 30.00+ per hour employees earn every penny when they have to handle all the mess ups created by the 10-12 dollar venders who totally mislead a customer or give them false information. By the time the customer gets to the 30.00 an hour employee the customer has already has gone through 8-10 reps prior and the customer is at this a point a CUSTOMER READY TO CANCEL ALL SERVICES and the 30.00 an hour rep is the one who will be able to find what went wrong and fix the problem, all while the customers calls them every name in the book, constantly putting the company down while trying to help this customer, and most important are highly trained and professional in this field. If Verizon would use trained American employees to begin with instead of venders, or non wireline employees not properly trained, the saving would be huge due to repeated calls and problems into the call centers. This company needs a union, and in the past when the company worked with the union everyone won. Current management staff is so anti-union that they are willing to lose brand loyalty over crushing the union. How I miss the old Bell Days, Bell Atlantic Days.
You had your chance to join us in the street and gain bargaining units for all. You did not want to sacrifice a few weeks pay, now unfortunately you will not have an income via Verizon permanently.
So be mad at us that's exactly what the rich want, division.

As a wireless emp, I didn't have pension , I didn't have job protection, or medical benefits when I retire. All benefits union members get, not to mention a voice in the workplace.
Listen mr wireless or better yet former mr wireless,before wireless there was only pots(plain old telephone service) and from the profits they took and grew the wireless part of the company,the union guys have been here before you even took your first crap in your diaper buddy,they had to fight for all there benifits contract after contract,you guys in the wireless thought you were untouchable and you guys said you want to get rid of the union ,why,they were here way ,way before you were even born,there hard work helped grow this company,even if the company said they are only a small pct of vz,so now some of you say oh we should have organized,you guys are so much smarter than the union guys isnt that what you said,then you should have seen the slow growth and the saturation of the wireless sector,but noooo you sat on you high horses and look down upon the union folks,and now do you see how corporate america works,WAKE UP,I do believe both union and non union both will be dimished in the future cause that is the technology that is going to kill these jobs,maybe in 10 to 15 years from now or maybe less,but most of you wireless guys will be cut in half year after year.and the union numeber will be reduced also as members retire. Well wireless never required anyone with half a brain since the product sold itself over the years. Why would you need more than $10 -$12 an hour for that? On wireline you need to understand the technology behind everything which means quality training that comes with quality pay. People in wireless now cry because they now see what union was saying, deal with it.

Let's see if I can clear this up for you. WE ARE IN A UNION DUMMY. Verizon didn't "give"us anything. The people that built the very network, (that you are employed because of) had to strike numerous times to be given a decent standard of living. While you s---balls were driving through our picket lines and bragging about how good a job you were all doing, we told you you would be tossed out when we came back. Should've listened.
