Any advices on how to quit from HPE?
Is there a minimal time that you got to stay at HPE?
Are there consequences after leaving?
Thanks.

OMG. Where are you hearing severance is 4 WEEKS ???? after 11.1?
Severance drops to 4 weeks in Nov 1.
.
Be lucky you got notified in October.
WFR's seem to be weekly. if there was a list of WFR's why would Meg and company not do them on the 17th? Doesn't Q4 close 2 weeks later?
Please put me out of my misery and add me to the next WFR! Ha ha!
It must be really bad times there to request to be on the WFR list! Lol.
@ihrg, thanks Paul Simon, that's perfect advice for us all :)
You just slip out the back, Jack
Make a new plan, Stan
You don't need to be coy, Roy
Just get yourself free
Hop on the bus, Gus
You don't need to discuss much
Just drop off the key, Lee
And get yourself free
WFRs happen every month the next one is on the 28th of October, but your manager would have had to submit your name at the end of September. Each account has numbers to meet, that is why certain managers will gladly put you on the list.
(I'm the poster who requested 4 weeks when resigning) My manager was trying to get me in the next WFR round (I didn't ask..he volunteered) but my turnaround was too quick. I think if I had asked for 6 weeks, I would have gotten in but my somewhat pesky recruiter for my new job pretty much warned me against asking for too much time to start. In hindsight, I think I could've gotten the 6 weeks and the WFR.
I've heard that some managers are petty enough to NOT give you a WFR when you ask.
This is hitting various server software and hardware engineering teams now, I can verify the average is 1-2 people per team. Productive people for the most part.
Prior to now these specific teams were mostly immune aside from the occasional d---beat. I think as soon as you cut engineering on such a wide scale the writing is on the wall.
Allegedly when these business units make money. Doesnt make sense. We shall see..
Why not throw your hand up for WFR candidate? I'm sure they'd take you up on it.
I was wondering about that too. I figured 2 weeks was too short of a time to hand things over. I was thinking it would take an entire quarter but I'm glad you were able to confirm 4 weeks as a good timeframe, @JQTt4s1-spf.
Everyone else in my group has been at the company for decades. I haven't even been there 4 years.
No consequences. HPE prefers that you leave on your own. Less costly and messy. Be professional if you can.
In April of this year, I simply scheduled a meeting with my manager to inform him of my intentions. Told him I would like my last day to be effective in 4 weeks instead of the usual two so that I could transition project work responsibly (I was in the middle of a huge project for a customer at the time) and that was that.
