I heard that there will be some demotion and firing this week and early next week in Calgary. Management wants it all done before the 19th so that they can announce it all.

I work in the Toronto office and have heard nothing in regards to layoffs ??
They're offering demotions to certain levels of management to cut some of the layers. Probably convert into a individual contributor role. It's that or take a package.
All signs point to worker bees being laid off this coming week, now that they know who will take a package. Not to say that management isn't done yet. Might have been on the chopping block the whole time.
Oh well.

These are just demotions and forced retirements. Are full on walk you out layoffs coming too?
It's happening now in Edmonton. People being offered demotion/pay cut or packaged out.
I have heard this too. And it will take place in Edmonton, Calgary, and Houston.
Seems like a long wait for an announcement -- we deserve to be kept in the loop. We are seeing it and feeling it. It'd be nice to hear it.
