hi everyone. im really sorry to hear the bad news people have gotten today. i am a legacy DTV person and made it through the may layoffs, but i havent heard anything this month.
does anyone mind giving a quick recap of what all happened today? sounds like a lot of people were let go. what departments? any word on legacy DTV people for the future?

I heard Business Solutions, D2D, and Cricket were affected this week . . . 40%+ in most of these segments. This globe is on FIRE this week.

Legacy accounts for 42% total revenue, HUGE CUTS are projected and will accelerate through next year, before the merger represented 40K cuts till 2020, after the merger that Number is unknown, most ExDTV employees will be looking for a job withing the next 2 years, just like many of us, so sad!

AT&T said Tuesday that it will lay off an undisclosed number of managers by the end of the year. The employee layoffs will help cut costs as AT&T sees declining revenue in legacy parts of the company, AT&T spokesman Marty Richter said. He declined to say which divisions would be affected. Richter did not say whether the number of layoffs would be in the hundreds or thousands, but described them as "relatively modest." AT&T has about 277,000 employees around the world. "We're adding people in many areas where we're seeing increased customer demand for products and services," he said in a statement. "However, there are also areas where customer demand for our legacy services continues to decline, and we are making some management staff reductions in those areas between now and the end of the year." Employees who lose their jobs will get severance packages and help with job placement, Richter said. They will also be eligible for other AT&T positions.
