@7ovk - Agree 100%. My manager was one of the classy ones.

@3xht - I'm not shocked at all. Used to, they'd suddenly give you a bottom 5 or bottom 10% ranking and use that as an excuse to not give you a bonus when letting you go while using your bonus $ to fund the additional bonus for the top 10% who were kept.

@2ywi - Isn't "half the total" normal? You get "half" at the mid-term bonus in March, and the remaining "half" at year-end, assuming the company made their objectives. Or were you saying that your IPF was .5 (1/2) and your manager screwed you? If that's the case, assuming your previous bonuses were all fully funded and nothing changed in your performance, your manager was a d-bag. Especially if your mid-year payout was based on a 1.0 IPF.

My manager couldn't email me my web letter because it went to my cisco email address. He was nice enough to take the time to print it for me, then scan it in and forward me the scanned copy to my personal email address. It wasn't really worth the effort given that he called me and read all the relevant info to me. It didn't mention the CPF or IPF, just the total bonus amount, the mid year amount already paid and what the difference was.

It would be classy to give a fair bonus for those let go. Good to know that some managers have been classy. Sad to see some are not classy.

Shocked at how much the IPF guidance for people being let go varies. In my group, 1.0 was minimum for those kicked out. (I was let go and got 1.025.) Shocked to see other groups give 1/2, 1/3 or almost nothing.

Well, I had to beg for my letter, and when I finally got it, I was horrified to see that they gave me only 1/2 % of the total. I am absolutely devastated, not to mention INSULTED.

I spoke with my manager the last day of employment and asked them to send me a web letter. They did as requested. I'd recommend emailing your manager and getting them to send it. By now you can wait until tomorrow and see what you get.

So, did Cisco mail out web letters for all receiving bonus or it didn't?

Or only managers do it on a personal case by case basis?

Your manager should have had a rewards discussion with you in person or via WebEx. As the previous reply stated, I would go back to your manager and ask him/her to provide your webletter to you. The bonus payout will be this Friday, Sept. 30th.

Send an email to your manager, he - if not a douchebag- will forward you the web letter. It became available on 9/21, payout is this Friday for US. I have seen different situations in the past. As a manager I always put in the fair IPF for my employees (LR or quitting. - If you had worked for a full quarter before you left, you are qualified.) But there were times, i got instruction -in all cases from my skip level senior director or VP- to reduce to the lowest IPF possible (.5 or .6), and even advice not to voluntarily send web letters to those who left (but if they ask, I am obligated to ...) Most of times, its not your manager who screws you because of the direct relationship you built, it the higher level management folks that want to get a larger pool of extra discretionary $ to give to their fav's.

I got mine letter from my manager, similar amount to last YE bonus amount.

Best of luck!
