Thread regarding University of Phoenix layoffs

To all of you who want to leave, leave.

The facts are below:

  1. You are going to get fired anyways and there is NO requirement to pay severance. Just ask your pals who were wiped out by cci and Itt.

  2. No matter what new job you get, you are going to be taking a big pay cut. Since most of you are telemarketers in reality, you are way overpaid as is. Even if you can land at another school, your big paydays are over.

  3. I am sure living with the everyday hell of not knowing is agony. At this point, all the agony is being created by you. You WILL be fired, the sooner you realize it, the easier life will be.

  4. Christmas is around the corner and plenty of places will be hiring. Don't look down on these job openings because remember, you will not be making nearly what you are currently making anywhere else anyways. If you are a smart person (I know, we ARE talking about UOP employees), you can tap into your 6 month emergency fund. I am sure you overpaid telemarketers make sure to save money every two weeks to that end, right?

I don't understand why any intelligent person, who should have savings, would even put up with the daily hell you guys put up with. I think some of you believe in unicorns and the rest of you think you will just wait it out and deal with it when it happens. Both are foolish. Walk away and allow yourself some peace.

UOP isn't going to benefit, it is currently being sold to a private equity firm with no experience running a school. And even that sale is questionable at the moment. There is no future at the phoenix. I think the OP was simply trying to make that point.

So I see management is encouraging us to quit before the layoff.

1) Less money paid out

2) Less poor Public relations when the layoff news hits the media.

3) Controls Public Image of Advertising, We Rise (kind of hard to rise with layoffs)

4) Controls Benefit Cost

Go, hurry, quit NOW!!! So Apollo/UoPX can benefit to the Max!!!!
