Thread regarding Follett layoffs

St. John's university bookstore

I work at the St. John's university bookstore. Why is that there is a husband and wife working at this location? They are extremely close with the store manager, they all used to work together at the Queens College bookstore, and I don't find it fair that they both work at this location. The husband is extremely lazy, doesn't leave the office, and when his wife was the textbook manager here he would just chill at the store!!! How can people get away with so much!!!!

Mr Heat isn't even controlled by HR. That's the first problem. The point that things work backwards here is true. Sad but true.

Call Mr. Heat, right. The person described a situation where the people who are violating policy will be the ones who are warned by the very people who know this is going on. The only person in that scenario who gets hurt is the person who is reporting the issue. Bottom line; if you are that bothered, find another job. If you can't find another job, putting up with this BS is the cost of doing business.

I'd like to address your point rather be a condescending snot. Follett is a family owned company. Husbands, wives, children and grandchildren all roam the halls. It also terrifyingly cliquish. The behavior you're describing isn't unusual. If it affects production, the RM shouldn't allow it. But what should happen and does happen aren't often the same. If it bothers you enough, take the opportunity to opt out. This is a terrible company. Leaving should be your top priority.
