Like any good lawyer, the push the agenda they're paid to push. That being said, if they're in a position to defend the company's management or board of directors, they'll do so aggressively. Put another way, if you're going to negotiate something with these folks, hire someone with a serious A game. They'll need it.

Worked extensively with legal. They are smart and capable and good people with a serious and sometimes unfortunate role in defending the wacked business decisions.
