I had 20 years and was gifted with a layoff.

And actually, most of those gifts are pieces of sh--.... Just like most of the General Merchandise the stores sell! Two people in the store I worked at recieved their 10 year gifts and two months later, our store was closed down to be absorbed by the main campus store with the thought of three fourths of a million profit by doing so. Good luck with that! Follett does not know what they are doing.
Uhhhh-a silly gift is a slap in the face. No leadership, no raises, no bonus, but YAY-I got a picture frame. Please.
The award gift is a nice token. Many companies don't do that anymore. Yes, raises and benefits would be much more appreciated, but it's also nice to receive a gift. Something is better than nothing!
Almost a thousand people got let go in the last 3 years and you are worried about your gift catalog? Great priorities there. I guess that answers what type of people are left at Follett - those who only care about themselves. Yeah gimme my prize cuz I stayed.
Contact mr. Heat. Lol
My manager just quit and our dept is screwed under the guy we are left with. He is totally out of touch with anything we do, and now is basically ruling with fear. Great tactic! Shes only been gone a a few days and everyone is freaking out. He never said a word to us basically the past year or more and now wants to have lunch but yet threaten our jobs??? God I hate this place, trying like hell to get out
Ok got my gift catalogue today, I do appreciate it. However, the best gift would be getting back my salary for all the work I do.
Perhaps you need to take a closer look at some of your so called leadership and see if they need to "take a hike "-many of us have tried to be part of the solution...but upper management has to help promote it-guess what? They have better things to do
Become part of the solution or take a hike. WTF is that supposed to mean? How about this, my solution is to fire half the useless VP's and Exec. VP's and put that money in the human capital in the store where the business actually happens. Can I implement my solution? Nope. We'll just throw more money at the smartest man in the room and cut benefits and wages.
Become part of the solution or take a hike.
Who cares about some lame a-- gift-how about decent leadership? I'll take that instead
I know someone who got her gift right after she was layed off!
The gifts are actually nice. One guy I know didn't get the gift notification until a month after his anniversary.
Yes, you do get to pick a gift.
