Saw the note about 1 Fellow in BXB being impacted. And it seems few groups like Cloud were just shut down so that means they would loose everyone...any knowledge about their age and years at company ?

The correct answer is "not enough." The same goes for Vice Presidents and Directors. Experience is only useful if you learn from and act on it, and if you are making the same mistakes over 30 years you are doing neither.
Also, the scale isn't "good or average or dead-weight." On the other side of dead-weight is active destruction which is a major cause of programs scheduled for X months not meeting the corporate quality standards required to ship in X years. These failures were no "more difficult than anyone could have predicted" than the rare leader who is held accountable chooses "to leave to spend time with their family."
@sqp - a q on
for which most of CIS Engg will be rejected anyways
What makes you feel this way? It's a genuine question...
CIS engineering was not let go . Actually they were told by Ulf Baumann to look for newer positions for the "New" cloud group they are forming . All the new poisitions are DevOps style roles .. for which most of CIS Engg will be rejected anyways :-)
I've seen 3 names of Fellows that got hit.
company getting cannibalized now.
execs heading for checkout lane with a pile of cash
I've seen 3 names of Fellows that got hit.
All of CIS engineering let go. Don't know if there was fellows there, but there were some DE/PE there.
Multiple fellows and DEs from many different orgs. It is new. I won't name names because you outside blood s---ers are looking for dirt. Suffice it to say, it was extremely shocking.
cnsg i think
Which Cloud Group? CITES?
Whole Cloud group was gone, DE, PE, TE 1/2. Doesn't matter if you were good or average or dead-weight. Doesn't matter if you spend weekends or nights working on cloud. Had know few people there, all 40+ brilliant and hard working.
who's the one fellow affected? anyone knows?
LRing Fellows and DEs would be somewhat new... they usualy "decided to leave Cisco to pursue new opportunity"
2 DE, some 5 PE in a shut down cloud group. two of them i personally know were 10+ yr tenure old timers 55ish...none would be <50.
