Thread regarding Follett layoffs

Good Morning

I'm thinking about walking around today going from floor to floor looking busy. Like all day long. So that people think I'm actually working. Huh. Kinda sound like most of you lazy a** Follett bums. Why dont some of you just get a real job. Most of you deserve to be at Follett though so you can just continue to ride the elevators until the power gets cut off.

Be nice to fellow Follett employees. Our enemies are outside of Follett. We will only succeed as a team.

What was Thad's job at Follett?

I worked under DE when she started in River Grove. She is a corrupt and nasty person. The only thing that she cared about was bringing in her friends and family to milk follett for all they can get. She treated the long time follett employees like they were stupid and dirt. She gets away with this because hr and the rest of upper management are just as corrupt and getting what they can while the getting is good before the whole company collapses

I honestly don't know how the stores do it. With handicap them with poor systems, processes and crazy policies. They also have to please three different bosses simultaneously.

For this kind of thing to be going on is sickening. But what is more sickening is the way Follett leadership silently condones this type of behavior. Where is HR? Do they just turn a blind eye? Wait I already know the answer to that.. YES THEY DO

little extra on their check too knowing her . Much more than a little extra. BF is one of the highest paid employees at DMBS or they wouldn't have the contract. PT and SY are her creatures too. No experience when hired but Follett paid for their training and guess who their loyalty is to? PT was her daughter's boyfriend back in the day. What an embarrassing mess. And you'd think Mr. Heat would investigate that!

If you seem to know what everyone is doing you must be outside quite a it . You should only worry about yourself and stop slaming others. Get a life

The hardest working and treated like complete idiots. I find all this very humorous. A 140 year old multi- billion dollar company that operates as it was a startup. Sometimes even worse than a startup. All being lead by a hard hitting big box retailer who is taking orders from people who are riding the coat tales of their forefathers hard work.

What a minute...isn't that the new American way?

I work at the home office and having nothing but complete respect and thankfulness for our store employees. They are definitely the hardest working employees at Follett.

and the sad thing is they feel they deserve their many breaks, never work close to an 8 hour day and that is OK too.

Before I was rif'd, I got to work at 7 and stayed until 7. Ate lunch at my desk, took no breaks. So I'm the one let go while people find the time for smoke breaks at work? Riiiiiigggghhhht. Makes so much sense. Work hard, get good reviews, get layed off. Goof off, call in sick, take cig breaks and keep the job. Maybe that's why Follett will be gone in less than 5 years.

There are a lot of over worked employees at Follett and they are not taking 50 cigarette breaks.

It is bull sh t that nothing is said to the ones abusing break time.

I am sure they are also the first ones to b tch about being overworked and stressed out.

Leadership is a process of social influence, which maximizes the efforts of others, towards the achievement of a common goal. This is a shared responsibility of all departments and key personnel--cronies with nepotistic tendencies included. Stop defending things that aren't defensible. Follett leadership has perpetuated unleadership-like behavior for way too long. Let's call a spade a spade and then try to figure out how to save our company. There's not much time left my friends.

Facilities folks are overworked along with everyone else, and talk about a thankless job. How 'bout we give them a break, or do we need to tear them apart too because we are angry with the leadership?

The smokers are the worst. Constant breaks and nobody checks it. DE in facilities is the master. Director? Ha. In title only.

I don't think this post was meant towards the stores.

There are a few people in Westchester that ride the elevator all day long carrying paperwork to look busy.

And let's not forget our smoking buddies the ones who feel it is OK to go out 20 to 30 times a day.

I feel my days here at Follett will end soon too much BS.

Sounds like our store. Don't forget the instructor that comes down with the student with the wrong book. Student chose the book himself and we get yelled at because he got the wrong book. Why do you yell at us , shows your ignorance and nonprofessional manner. Yes we "happily " return the book and make it all good. May your days be better!

Oh yea come on out to my store for rush, this is a real invite. See how 'lazy' we are, helping students find their books, doing rentals, taking a looong time doing price matching, listening to teachers scream because their precious books aren't on the shelf, even tho the y ordered them last week. I bet you wouldn't last 15 minutes.
