6 in my BU, 40+, 3 white and 3 Chinese
20% in our group= 8 people, all 40+
The Cisco Capital - 40 in Dublin, Ireland affected - jobs moving to, guess where, Poland
A few 40+ remotes that where alienated by team management mainly because they where not geographically visible.
UMM, about 5% hit on a 100 person team
@@J1pETRV-isr any idea why the SPG layoffs? Thought data analytics was top of mind for Cisco and Mike seems like a good leader.
I counted 293 dir engg once the news hit. Have to check again in a month if they dont whack me in the next round
"I've heard rumours that the whole software platforms group (under Biri) got taken out - was that true?"
He ravaged the data and analytics team under Mike Flannagan, dozens got booted in a phone call and Mike got booted out too. It looks like most of the white and/or older people got whacked. I heard that several other directs under Mala Anand got hit also and some of the brightest engineering managers got moved under Biri directly. Don't know what will happen to Mala, they'll probably whack her too. I thought Mike was the smartest and most seasoned from the group of directs to Mala. I reckon this culling is also about sacking any challenger in the court.
4 Directors over 40 (3 females, 1 male). 1 female people manager over 40. 4 individual contributors (all male and over 40).
Older people 40+ got whacked, last 2 white people in my BU are gone
I hope that VP is who I'm thinking off - I've never seen such a top heavy group. They announced a whole heap of promotions last year to DE/PE/Director (just about everybody else was frozen). I've heard rumours that the whole software platforms group (under Biri) got taken out - was that true?
Vp, his directors, de and pe all of them. Skeletal crew left
All three more senior, older Directors were fired. Four remaining - all below 40....
Nothing up to Director. But the parking lot shows many missing so other groups around were hammered.
VP, Directors and a lot more got fired (SJ). We are transitioned to a different group and are expecting more layoffs in the next few weeks (we are in Europe, thats why it didnt hit us yet).
