@1knt If you're thinking Tempe we are not speaking of the same store
Ha! The Arizona store has been up for a move since 2000! The thought that it is really going to happen is desperate hope! It's comical.
Ahem, yes, this is Bob from regional speaking. Well, um, we don't like to think we have 'unprofitable' stores. We prefer to think of them as 'underperforming.' Sort of like my night in the bedroom last night. I did not fail to execute, I just underperformed. Hopefully my wife will not make me sleep on the couch tonight. But, anyway, back to our stores...we do have a lot of stores we wish we had never opened. And for reasons not to be disclosed to mere mortals like you we continue to open stores in total crap areas (like Destin, FL and Tallahassee, FL) and then we act flummoxed when the stores don't do well. But that's OK, we'll lay off some ASTLs, TLs, ATLs, and Specialist/buyers to make up for it. Uh, I'm sorry, I forgot what your question was.
We will never use the word "closure" as it has some pretty negative connotations, but there will be stores targeted for conversion or relocation. There is currently one such store in Arizona slated for this, but only in the discussion phase.
Does that mean we will be out of a job during the remodel?
Underperforming WFM stores will ultimately be converted to 365 stores.
