Thread regarding Follett layoffs

Worst company ever.

Nothing more to say. Follett turned on their experienced associates and threw us out like we were garbage. Everyone that is sticking around deserves to feel that pain too, and they will when sales sink so low there no longer is a Follett. No hope at all for a turnaround, unless you count the sinking whirlpool.

Most employees that work at Follett are in pain everyday they arrive at work.

It may not be the worst company ever. However, management did betray and abuse the employees that made them wealthy. It was a disgusting violation of trust. It was poor business, too.

To those left at Follett, just know that you're working for people capable of destroying a business and hurting your career. They've done it before and will likely do it again.

Sounds like you are in your own personal version of hell Good luck with that. Smart move to stay and be abused

Everyone that is sticking around has felt the pain... we are put down and demeaned on a daily basis, we didn't get raises or bonuses, BUT we don't DESERVE pain, we have been through the pain.

I agree that the company has really gone down the toilet and treats employees like crap, I can't believe that there is so much hostility towards those of us that stuck around.

I understand the anger, I was there too. I applied for a job at Uber so I could walk in and quit. (I changed my mind)

I have worked retail my entire life. Even at Follett's worst, it is still better than the best of other companies I have worked for. Now don't get me wrong, what has been done at the company is awful and I am disgusted at the turn this company has taken. However, I still work non-traditional retail hours, rarely work nights, I get vacation around the holidays because it is non-traditional retail, my work life balance is good (mostly because I refuse to allow myself to be abused into 50+ hr work weeks). I like what I do and the "university" environment.

I did not hurt you.... the upper management decision makers did....the spineless cover your own a-- yes-men did. Stop spewing hate. (maybe that's why you are out?) WE don't DESERVE it. WE have lived it and still managed to come out the other side.

You are there by choice. If you have legs, you can walk out. If you can talk, tell them you quit. Of course you are there by your own choosing. Are you tied to your work stations? No free will? You choose to stay, even after watching your co- workers marched out. And what is too old? 50? 60? So you're saying that Follett is keeping all the old people? I think not. Original poster is correct, it is the worst company ever. People who stayed all these years are complicit in the destruction on those many careers. Did you agree to take on extra work because they let someone else go? I rest my case.

Really! The people left deserve to feel the pain?

Did you ever think that the people left behind are not there by choice?

Some are too old to find another job, others are looking but have not found anything. Yet!

But to say they DESERVE to feel the pain makes the person who made the comment an a-- hole!
