I too was an October layoff. Took me 6 months to land a new job which I was surprised paid better and has better experience. I still periodically come on this site to observe the suffering of those s---s who think they had it good by dodging the October layoffs due to nepotism. Watching them breaking down and suffering bring me a lot of satisfaction. I'm willing to bet I'm not the only one.

That s---s, I was let go in the October layoff last year. I was able to get on at another E&P company and couldn't be happier. Life outside of COP is awesome!
