Thread regarding Qualcomm Inc. layoffs

Everything is *** AWESOME ***

Look at that. Qualcomm in explosive growth once again. Just in one day outperformed intel by f---ing 15%

This is the best company to work for PERIOD.

Don't ask for more bonuses or raises. Be happy the rising star of the entire world is employing you you ungrateful bastards.

SM made a severe underestimation when he said the total addressable market is $29B in 5 years.

The entire economy of the universe is addressable by Qualcomm!!!

Snapdragon 820 can be used in crop farming, construction, digging, military, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, sports, banks you name it.

WE'RE KICKING A-- PERIOD

Still not close to the stock price we saw more than a decade back. No growth, only ups and downs here.

@IuRDRir-2lkp, just look at GAAP earnings. CFO only talks about non-GAAP in his prepared conference call statements. For obvious reasons.

Adjusted EPS for QCOM's FY16Q3 was $1.16 vs a consensus .97 cents. A very nice beat on earnings...until you listen to the conference call. QCOM unexpectedly was able to record $200 million in "catch-up" licensing revenues during the quarter and another one time $200 million from another source for a grand total of $400 million. Per QCOM's CEO, neither was expected so soon which is why QCOM had not included either amount in their own internal estimates for the quarter. It was this unexpected $400 million that caused the EPS beat of .19 cents to be so large this quarter. These are QCOM CEO's words ...not mine.

If this is true, this $400 million added .26 cents per share to the quarter unexpectedly. This means that without it, earnings per share would have been .90 cents not $1.16...a .07 cents eps miss.

Is QCOM in the short term always going to have to rely on unexpected licensing "catch up" revenues to meet or beat analysts' consensus estimates going forward? If the answer is yes, then maybe QCOM has not yet turned the corner like most seem to think after reviewing this quarters' results

I thought that the stock price would go down to $24. This is what the experts on this board were saying

MSM shipments down 11% YoY.

ASP down 7% YoY

GAAP vs. non-GAAP delta in quarterly EPS now a balmy 19 cents. How cute!

Everything is awesome.

So can a stock ARM CPU. After 9 quarters of disappointment, you're bound to have a good earnings call.

Welcome back to $60.
