There has been some recent layoffs at one of El Paso's locations. El Paso, tx has 2 different buildings, most of these layoffs were rehired at the other location. So much for their no rehire policy, looks like it's only enforced on some cases. I'm glad it was enforced when I was laid off 4 years ago, I would never go back there if it was the last job on earth.

El Paso's , TX locations have lots of fake candidates (QA and Java dev). How is the hiring done when an individual does not have real previous experiences and degree. Not justifiable for people having real hard earned degree and experiences.

They changed the rehire rule in 2012 to if you did not get rehired in the first 60 days then you could never return to HP or HPE. Then after the split it was changed to 2 weeks and then no rehire.
I still wonder why in the world would anyone want to return. I got laid off in January, 2015, and I was working again (with a better pay and role) by early May. It took me some time to get an offer aligned to what I was looking for, but I got it. It NEVER passed through my mind - not even once - the idea/hope of being able to return to either HPI or HPE.
I received an information packet when I took the Early Retirement package that stated a 2 year waiting period before rehire eligibility. I applied for position at HP after 2 years - the hiring manager wanted me; however HR informed him anyone affected by the WFR process can never return.
What is weird is hpalumni links to the WFR packet from 2014 and it says no rehire. I got WFR at the same time in 2014 and mine said there was a 1 year waiting period or VP approval.
Over 60, master level, got wfr'd in March. Came back into a much much better job for me. It took 1 week to get the job offer and 6 more to get through the approval process. It's possible. Whether it's a good idea is still TBD.
If you are one of the less than 1% of the people that get rehired (that BTW, I'm not personally aware of anyone), take the opportunity to start an aggressive job search to get out of there. There are much better options. You don't really need to go through all that crap. How long will it take for you to go through the nightmare again? And always with the risk and fear of getting boot out. You control your career. Don't let HPE or any other employer to dictate it to you. Honestly... You and your family deserve much better...

I think it's possible for your manager to blacklist you when you get WFR, but I don't think there is an official no rehire policy.
If there is they forgot to tell the recruiters...
