SHC does not care about customers, employees or anyone else but whoever can make the stock holders money. IF anyone thinks that getting customers into the store or customer service or "to serve delight and engage our members as the Shop their way" is really the end game then they don't have a clue. I dont care how much the corporate shills talk about customers, service or products it is all about the end game, which is to keep this Piece of sh** going long enough to sell off the real estate, get money from interest on loans, get cheap labor, get service contracts, get customer information to be sold to third party vendors or get money from online sales that are cancelled and refunds take 2-3 months to get posted while SHC gets interest on the money. I know I worked at corporate for 5 years

Really surprised to see Sears limping along after so many years of failure ... fewer and fewer people come in to shop. foot traffic has noticeably dwindled at my store, year after year..Every one complains on pebble that there's no traffic, especially if there's a so called "big sale"... the friends and family events and "member" events are poorly advertised, so nobody comes in to shop. There is a lot more to the problem than the lack of advertising though...

KCD ... aka China is no longer an asset. Customers in Pittsburgh go to Lowes, Home Depot and Harbour Freight. No 'sale' price tricks, no gimmick points, no price gouging protection agreements.

I almost think Eddie is intentionally destroying the company, even if he loses some money in the process. I don't know why, maybe he's bored and this is all just for fun. If it works, great. If it doesn't, no big deal.

If he was trying to make money, he would have been wise to have filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy (reorganize and get a fresh start) a couple of years ago. Now, if and when bankruptcy commences, it will be Chapter 7 (liquidate and disappear). There's no way in hell can this company "turn around" and reorganize.

Think about it...there is no money to be made at this point. Sears cannot function as a viable retailer, KCD (their last real asset) isn't exactly going to bring a windfall if they sell it, and no one wants the real estate. Every time there is a loan or a sale of assets the company burns through the cash. The money from the big sale to Seritage last year is loooooong gone...

The decline of foot traffic has been noticeable. The economy is slowly getting better but fewer people are shopping at Sears.

I work in appliances so this combined with our continually-butchered commissions really does hurt. I'm semi-retired and do this to pass the time and for extra income so it is not as bad for me, but there are salespeople that have families to support or do not have another source of income. That is what worries me.

I regularly get asked if Sears is closing. There are people that really cannot believe that Sears and Kmart are still around, and for those that do, the reputation of the company is really sour. Too many customers have been burned in one way or another over the last decade ever since Lampert took over. I've worked for Sears for over 20 years and we have never been perfect but Sears is really not what it was back then.
