Director set my 1:1 not first line Mgr

Does anyone know why my director shared the wonderful news to me on my LR today?

I asked the director and said it's cause they are "sharing" the responsibility, whatever that means.

After 12 years of service, I'm happy to get the package. It's a pretty good one too.

What package did you get for 12 years of service?

Maybe we're in the same group? That's what happened to me. It could be that our managers had no say in the decision process. Who knows. There was no reason for me to be chosen given that I was responsible for a very key product and I gave my very best. But my best was not good enough. To him, I probably fit in the bottom 5 percent. (Note : Just a year ago I got a promotion.) In any case, I am somewhat relieved to be set free from all the chaos. Frankly, it's their loss. There will be better opportunities out there where you'd be treated a lot more fairly and with respect.

That's what happened to me last year. My Mgr got it along with me. If the Mgr has no guts they can take sick. I saw this too. Generally those people will get it the next go round. Good luck, I have a better job, stay positive. There is definitely life after cisco.

They weren't necessarily LR'ed. Different organizations do it differently.

That means your 1st line mgr and 2nd line mgr were LR'ed too. Not bad.
