I accept your opinion, my gripe was the use of a maligned statement. For my part, I walk away with a good package, and have already opportunities waiting for me when I officially leave. Hence, I can't complain too much.
Bizarrely enough, I actually feel this large restructuring will be the making of Cisco. The decision should have been taken earlier. Annual layoffs based on performance don't feel as shocking as a massive number we have seen.

Hey, to the bloke who said I would whinge / whine like a little girl...maybe "no longer required" is the wrong terminology but so is "fired". Fired is when you have done something wrong and are getting the boot. People here are being layed off because of company restructuring / refocus / call it what you will....but not getting "fired". There is a difference. But guessing from the tone of your reply I'm assuming you still dont get it.
Am I company man? Well strangely I get a good salary, great benefits that are better than most companies and in return I work hard. Does that make me a company man? What I don't do is expect Cisco to wrap me in cotton wool, kiss me if I get a boo boo and tuck me up at night. A lot of posters here (and you I assume) seem to think Cisco are our mummies and daddies and are kicking us out of the house. Its not that kind of relationship.
