A friend proposed the theory that Cisco started the 20% layoff rumor last night so that when they announced 7% today it wouldn't seem that bad. Employees would actually breath a sigh of relief (until next summer). Could management really be that devious?
Here's a math question for you kids, if Cisco lays off 7% of their work force globally every year and only hires back 4% of SW developers in India, how long before Cisco is back to just three employees in the US?
