Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

I wonder how hiring is going at Cisco while termnations are happening. I'm sure it's happening.

I expect the number is correct, just over the longer term. Cisco's share price went down 40+ cents on the 14,000 rumour (probably because it signalled that our results were going to be bad), and then when they announced good results with a 5,500 layoff plan, the price went down ANOTHER 50c in after market - probably because they were disappointed the number was NOT 14,000.

Note the 7% is just for Q1. International layoffs take longer. Of course the ultimate number will be higher.

I know I am getting laid off tomorrow. My resume is ready.

But all those who survived and still taking a breath of relief, do you think its going to last long.

Come November, and another layoffs.

Chuck says --> " today's rumor—that Cisco might lay off 20 percent of its workforce—would be a logical step for a company that generated $48.7 billion in revenue this year, yet is still getting left behind by its software-minded competitors."

I say more layoffs are on their way - Don't be relieved yet, if you were the lucky one.
