Cisco has tons of Directors and VPs with no direct reports - having 7 really is not an issue
I'll say "hmmm I wonder why the multiple managers I know who went through the layoff training and were told the names of the people they would be laying off lied to me."

My boss told us last week that he has to fire 3 of the 10 people reporting to him. It just now occurred to me that Cisco doesn't pay a manager's salary to someone who only manages 7 people. I'm thinking he's done for too.
My services boss is new to services and is slick BDM type run BDM team. We all scared because his team look like holding pen to layoff and he not smart, yet he managing director. When we get layoff, I guess go to competition, stsrt up or home
Unfortunately it's happening this time only the good'ol boy network will survive performance means nothing.

Again. My boss literally told us that 30% of us were done for next week. It IS happening. I'm not trying to be an A-Hole... just sharing true events.

No layoffs announced externally does not mean there are not going to be layoffs. Just look at last year.
I would prefer there actually be layoffs announced and how many and get done with it at once rather than be in fear for the rest of year not knowing when the axe will fall.
