Lists were rolled and put through Employee Relations end of June. Decisions were made months ago, there's nothing you can do about it now if you're already on that list. You're naive to believe that there's some process in place to look for disgruntled employees posting anonymously on the internet to add them to a list. HR, which is projected to take a 15% hit, is far too understaffed to do more than make sure the recommendations departments make for the list are within legal criteria. HR just follows the direction of the business and works with Employee Relations to ensure Cisco won't get into any trouble.
How are they going to figure this out? Using their firepower threat defense software?
You're a row in a spreadsheet. Surfing means nothing. If you are over 50, or have gotten too many merit raises and make too much, you have a good chance. A few young people will go too, to bring the average age down. The good news is, it happened to me last year, I'm over 50, and I have a better job at better pay, although I had to take a contract job for six months. Stay positive, stop the blame game, network network network, and you'll be good, even though it might not seem that way short term. There is life after cisco. Good luck to all my friends still there.
@ntl totally agree - if they wanted, they could do it. but the cost (resources, time, opportunity cost) would be massive - so, go figure
Could they do it? Sure. Do they care enough to do it? Hell no. If somebody posted something that was truly egregious e.g. a spreadsheet with a list of layoff names, an e-mail from Chuck saying, "I don't care how you have to pain this pig to make it pass legal muster, but get rid of as many people over 40 and everyone who isn't white" then yeah, they would probably be all over it. The b--ching you see here? Nothing that people wouldn't say to their faces given the chance.

They know everything. You really expect your laptop with all those specifications to be so slow? the thing is full of keylogger soft, rootkits and spyware. That is why before every refresh you should at least take care of formatting your SSD 10-20 times before you return your old laptop. But by then, they already know too much about your conversations. That is how they live, work, play and learn all about you from anything you do with their laptop-.
Cisco sells big data analytics and tons of software designed to spy on employees and citizens. Just google "cisco China surveillance "
Cisco Public Sector wears its USA flag on its sleeve but has done more damage to America than anyone can imagine. And that doe not even include the 50 billion offshore that they refuel se to repatriate to avoid taxes
